JOIN US THIS FALL.

With the administration's policies increasing the cost of living and its assault on democratic institutions, we can't afford to wait. Join us to canvass as we prepare for 2026.

NOVEMBER 1: ONE YEAR TO WIN!
Canvass and Meet Candidates for Governer

We will be reaching out to our neighbors getting ready for the absolutely critical midterm elections one year later. On Saturday, November 1st, we have canvass shifts at 9:00 and Noon.

We are very excited about the candidates for Governor who will kick off our 1Y2W shifts.

Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez will kick off our 9:00 shift. Learn more about Sara then join us at 9:00 to hear from Sara before talking with our neighbors about what issues matter to them.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley will kick off our Noon shift. Learn more about David and then join us at Noon to hear from David before heading out for an afternoon of talking with our neighbors.

If you are unable to canvass, you are welcome to come and hear from the candidates. Whether you canvass or not, come and feel free to bring your family and friends. Learn about these two strong candidates and their positive messages of change.

Diana and Don Trask are hosting.

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO NOW!

Here are some additional things you can do on your own to support our Mission and to resist the Trump/Project 2025 agenda:
  • Communicate with your federal representatives on issues. The website 5 Calls makes this easy as it also includes key information on important and timely issues: https://5calls.org/
  • Communicate with your state legislators on issues.  The Wisconsin Library Association has some great guidelines and tips on how to do this: wisconsinlibraries.org/call-your-legislators.
  • Identify and participate in protests that represent your causes. 50501 is one of the national organizers for progressive protests – the group often works with one or more local and/or national groups. The website is fiftyfifty.one/events.  Following accounts such as 50501 on social media is the best way to be alerted to protests you may be interested in joining. There may be rallies focusing on issues that you care deeply about. Identify those organizations and follow them via newsletters, emails and social media.
  • Follow Team Gold on social media, as well as accounts such as WisDems and those of our elected officials, to stay in the loop!  Below are the links for each of our accounts (all Teamgoldwi):
  • Support local nonprofits.  Team Gold is rooted in community – and Lussier Community Education Center, located on Madison’s far west side, has a mission of building community, creating opportunities, and enriching education.  The organization envisions drawing in generations of community members from all walks of life to take care of one another and create a more just, healthy, and vibrant community.
    • Learn more about Lussier and opportunities to donate and/or volunteer:  lcec madison.org.  There are many programs to choose from, including Lussier’s Food Pantry, youth programs, and more.  There is even a community-run radio station:  wwmvlp.org/about-us
  • Review your voting status and upcoming elections at Myvote.wi.gov.  The site also has a search function to help you find your elected officials:  myvote.wi.gov/en-us/My-Elected-Officials
As always, we love to hear from you! Direct message via any of our social media accounts, email [email protected], or click on the Volunteer Interest Form and Sign Up for our Emails links on this site. Interested in being more involved with Team Gold? We have plenty of options!
Neighborhood Action Teams like Team Gold are accessible to everyone. Encourage those you know on Madison’s far west side to join us! Those who live outside our area can visit DaneDems.org to find a local team.
