Continuing the Fight – December 2018 Actions

I didn’t expect to have something for Team Gold Volunteers to do, but Republicans aren’t resting on their laurels. According to this Madison.com article, Scott Walker and state Republicans are planning a power grab:

  • They plan on limiting Josh Kaul’s power to represent the state in litigation, and giving the legislature power to elect an unelected ‘special counsel’ to represent the state instead
  • They are planning to limit early voting, despite a federal judge’s ruling stating that the last time they tried this it was racially discriminatory.

So we’re asking you to volunteer from the comfort of your own home this month, by calling and texting people, letting them know to contact their representatives about this.

To phone bank, use this link to access the directions and get started: phone bank instructions

To text, sign up using this spreadsheet, and an organizer will get in touch with you: texting sign up
Lastly, the Dane Dems is partnering up with local teams to organize a Madison Mayoral Candidate Forum. If you’re interested sign up by emailing us at teamgoldwi@gmail.com.
Have a wonderful and safe holidays!

Congratulations Everyone!

We did it! We’ve reelected Tammy Baldwin to the US Senate, and swept all statewide offices for Democrats. Thanks to your help and support, Governor Tony Evers, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, Attorney General Josh Kaul, and State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski won their races.

If you volunteered with us this past election cycle, we hope you stay in touch! The next elections are in Spring of 2019, where a seat on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court is up for grabs.

And if you’re looking for something to do in the very short term, Mike Espy is facing a runoff for a US Senate seat in Mississippi. Indivisible Madison is writing postcards tomorrow, if you’d like to help with that.

The website will be quieter for the next month or so, so have a great holiday season, and see you in 2019!

The Final Stretch – Our October and November Events

edit on 10.30.2018: Please note that the location of the 11/1/2018 phone bank has changed! The sign up link has the new address, and if you’ve signed up you should have received an update email.

edit on 10.9.2018: We’ve updated this post to now include our November events!

We’re down to 41 days before the 2018 general elections, and we’re kicking it into high gear. We have a ton of volunteer opportunities from now until election day, so come check out our events below.

You’ll find that we’re using a different system for event sign ups, we hope you find it easier to use than what we were using before. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Also please note that the location details are revealed after you sign up (consider this a security upgrade).

Thank You Tammy! And Let’s Show Up for Mandela Barnes

We want to thank Tammy for joining us and kicking off a VERY successful canvass, phone bank, and post card writing event! We had great turnout, and we’re going to carry this energy through the rest of the campaign!

We’re holding a few more events this September, and we’ll have our October  events up soon.

We want to highlight that this Wednesday, September 19th, we’re hosting a dinner with Mandela Barnes, Sarah Godlewski, and Josh Kaul! Come hear them speak and get involved to help get them elected!

Come sign up using this link (the dinner is at the end of the form), or respond to the event on our Facebook page!

We’re also hosting one last canvass and post card writing event the weekend of September 22nd. Sign up here!

We hope to see you soon!

Special September Events

We’re excited to announce a couple additions and changes to our September events.

First, we have a new event scheduled for next weekend, September 15th, where we’ll be joined by Tammy Baldwin! We’ll be canvassing, postcard writing, and phone banking, so let’s show up to support Tammy! Details are at located here!

Second, future Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes will be joining us at our team meeting on September 19th at Vintage Brewery! Come join us to show our support!

As always, you can sign up for all our September events at this link. We hope to see you soon.

September Volunteering Events

With the primaries over, we’ll be heading out every other weekend in September to talk to voters about the November elections! Here’s what we’re up to next month:

Canvassing Success!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to canvass or write post cards today! We had almost twice the turnout we expected, which is awesome! We hit 377 doors and wrote over 80 postcards.

As a reminder, we are going out again tomorrow after work, check out the event details here.

If you can make one of our events, it helps us to sign up so we have an estimate of people. It takes time and effort to create the walk packets, and we want to make sure we have something for every volunteer to do. We’re putting all of our events on this Google form. Sign up to canvass/postcard, phone bank, and for our team meetings.

August Events and September Team Meetings

We’re down to less than 100 days to the November general elections, and we’re kicking into high gear. Below you’ll find a list of our big August events and our September team meetings.

With the partisan primaries coming up on August 14th, we wanted to make sure anyone reading this website had a link to all the Democratic gubernatorial candidates up for election so you can make an informed decision. As we’re based on the west side of Madison, we’ll be focusing on offices up for election where we are based.

Also, here are the answers that candidates gave to the League of Women voters for the primary. Use this to make an informed decision.
